Corinne Nicole Webster: I am an artist. In the past I have dealt with the various forms that the human body can take, how we can relate to the medium at hand and what kind of relationship they hold together. More recently I have evolved into working with the more mental aspect of this relationship where the image meets reality. The idea of memory and how it can elude us, give us hope, make us feel like our existence is solid, this is what I find so beautiful about the human mind. I have begun to explore my psyche, my own memories and emotions to create images of the people and scenes that have left lasting impressions in my life. This imprint is my main focus, how remembering my view of life has permeated into my mental history. So often we are left looking for the meaning of our lives, looking for that instant, where the gut reaction of entering into the fire takes place and brings life to our deflated existences. We are looking for those moments; at least I know I am. My reality is unchangeable; the momentary illusion of my dreamlike state, the lushness is hopeless. It is so overwhelmingly static that the beauty almost blinds me. It is those moments that I create.
